Description:

Just a few years before his death Mozart composed two phantasies for a small mechanic organ - for an organ in a clock: Fantasia Nr.1, f-minor, KV 594 (adagio-allegro-adagio) which was written in 1790.

Scarlatti's Sonatas enrich not only the pedagogical repertoire of bajanists but also their concerts to a great extent.

Repnikov's bajan cycle "Souvenirs" continues the tradition of oeuvres for children and the youth by R.Schumann, P.I. Tschaikowsky, S. Prokofjew, N. Tschaikin, K. Mjaskow oder Wl. Solotarjov. Each piece of this cycle is based on a catchy melody which is stylised by Russian folklore. The music of each movement of the suite is closely connected to its title.

In Wl. Solotarjov's "Sonata nº2" classical and folklore features blend into those of the Avant-garde with great harmony. Unusual lightness, elegance and vividness of form make you think of Viennese Classic ( The manuscript even holds the subtitle "Children's Symphony in the spirit of Haydn"). The topics and the tone painting, however, are closely connected with Russian folklore. The Sonata is based on the classical form of sonatas: lst movement - Allegro, 2nd movement - intellectual lyric poetry in a simple, three-part form with introduction and conclusion, 3rd movement - rondo in three parts. Initiated by F Lips, who played it for the first time, the finale showed for the first time in the history of bajan - the bellow-method of "Ricochet". It was also gladly accepted by the composer.

One of Solotarjov's most popular oeuvres is the "Partita". Inspired by the partita's old forms the composer added new contents and renounced traditional dancing movenents. It is marked by a clear and modern tone language which uses both traditional Russian features and those of modern, contemporary music. All four movements are connected by a mutual idea, which makes the oeuvre show an amazing unity. Artistically the Partita shows the conflict between good and evil, clearly depicting these two opposing forces, thus increasing the music's emotionality to the utmost. For the first time in bajan music the composer conveys the picture of sorrow by a funeral march in the 2nd movement.
