Notes from the Composer:
DW922 - The Swiss Efficiency Polka:

Playing Standard: Grade 4
Playing Time (approximate): 3 min 0 sec

This fast-paces polka (almost a two-step) starts in A major, but has sections also in D major and E major, before returning in the final section A major. It is a brisk, happy piece, which involves the combination of smooth phrasing and staccato, as well as triplets on the treble keyboard, with important accenting throughout. The basses provide rhythmic accompaniment and are thus uncomplicated, although there are many chord changes. It teaches the player the importance of correct fingering in order to achieve the feeling of flow, rhythm and efficiency.
