Notes from the Composer:
DW932 - Into the Spice Market:

Standard:
Playing Time (approximate):

Written in A minor for Stradella bass instruments, the introduction immediately sets the tone of the piece - he thought of entering the busy spice market - followed by the actual entry and the constant flurry of activity. The treble melody continues in Grand Bazaar mode. In the second section, the treble picks up the pace, moving rapidly between stalls in the market, being chased by the stall holders. Then it's back to the quieter section of the market - and the melody - before heading into a final race through the market stalls to get to the exit at closing time.
