Notes from the Composer:
DW948 - Mosaic Waltz:

Standard: Grade 2/3
Approximate playing time: 2 min 30 sec

Written in F major, the piece opens with a march-like eight-bar staccato introduction. The waltz itself is an 8-bars-long hummable, melody-rich tune, with a rhythmic flow that includes legato phrasing together with a number of speed variations to accompany the lilting feeling of the melody. The accompanying bass and chord structure is straightforward and unfussy. The middle section includes a mix of major and minor chords, and, after resttating the original theme, the piece finishes quietly with a soft, unexpected major 7th chord.
