In 1993
Angel Luis Castano, after having commenced an impressive international
career, made his first record. In this recordiong we listened
to exceptional pieces from the modem repertoire for accordion,
but we noticed the almost total absence of music composed
for this instrument by Spanish composers.
Thirteen years have passed since then, and this new record
is a real testimony to the exceptional dedication of Angel
Luis Castano: all the musical pieces on this present recordion
were written by Spanish composers and all were written for
him. These are well known composers, interpreted all over
the world, awarded prizes on many different occasions, but
mainly about personal authors, with their own reputation,
very demanding creators with very clear ideas, with whom Castano
has collaborated with in order to reach a highter quality
in the repertoire of an instrument that is acquring a definite
firmness.
This record is not only the pleasant meeting with an extraordinary
interpreter playing music of the greates quality, but also
a manifest of the compromise of a musician with creation in
his time. Without a doubt, Angel Luis Castano and these six
pieces dedicated to him are now a part of the future for the
accordion. |
