There are
so many pieces of music which do not fit into any specific category.
Often, I am asked to play this or that, or to record it, but it's
not a love song, so it can't appear on a collection of love songs.
The accordion is capable of playing so many different types of music,
that it is fantastically exciting to have the opportunity to explore
the many different genre of music.
More than anything, I love the challenge to step where no accordionist
has stepped before. I think I am the first to attempt to play Ricky
Martin on accordion, for example. But, I also want to celebrate
the wonderful accordion composers of the 20th century, Charles Magnante
and Pietro Diero, not to mention the Russian element with Victor
Gridin's Rassypuchka. This timeless showpiece encompasses the soul
of this recording - Rassypuchka, the crumbs of music - bits and
pieces, odds and ends, of Accordiana.
Bernadette is a perfect ambassadress for the accordion and her collection
