Notes from the Arranger:

ec212 Corellian Gigue:

A few words about the music: This e gigue from Sonata No. 9 by Arcangelo Corelli (1653-1713) has been arranged as a 32 bar jig for contra dance. This one-page arrangement includes three lines--melody, descant, and harmony--and can be played as a solo or ensemble on accordions or other instruments. Nearly all of the harmonies are those composed by Corelli. Chords are given for guitar or accordion. Also included are transcriptions for viola and cello and a transposition for Bb clarinet.
