Description:

Petri Makkonen (1967) studied accordion at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, under the guidance of Matti Rantanen, he studied composition with Heikki Valpola and Olli Kortekangas. He graduated in 1994.

Petri Makkonen has composed an extensive range of repertoire for the accordion. His compositions have been inspired by personal experience and detailed events through his life.

This CD contains a collection of his compositions, written between 1981 and 2005. These compositions require the highest level of musicianship and technical ability.

Petri Makkonen is currently teaching accordion in the Kuopio Conservatory accordion in the Kuopio Conservatory and the Kuopio Academy of Music and Dance.
