It
all started with a film score. Even before we stood together for
the first time on stage as QUADRO NUEVO - that was in a small
club called "Le Pirate" - the broadcaster ORF hired
us to lay down the soundtrack for a film. As a result, the theme
itself attained an existential significance for the four of us
right from the start: an expression of the passion we not only
share for music, but for film as well.
Our album CinéPassion is not intended to be a selection
of film history's most popular melodies. It's much more a very
personal essence of months of going to the movies and thrilling
evenings watching videos - always on the lookout for motifs that
harmonize with QUADRO NUEVO's style and instrumentation. Melodies
with made the moods of those films we had just experienced unforgettable,
and ones we continued to hear long after the last frames had faded
away.
