Nikolai
Ryskov started his education at the age of seven with his
father, who taught the accordion at a musical school. When
ten years old, he continued his studies under Valery Elysseev.
Having passed his exams, he continued to study between 1984
and 1988 with Nikolai Komissarov at the Gnessin College
of Music in Moscow. From 1988 to 1994 he studied at the
Russian Academy of Music with Igor Siroyezhkin. He also
had many private lessons with Frederick Lips, who encouraged
him throughout his studies.
He performed as a soloist and in ensembles at the International
Classical Accordion Festivals "Bayan and Bayanisti"
in Moscow during 1990-1993 directed by Frederick Lips. Later
he took part in concert tours of Switzerland in 1994 in
solos and ensemble recitals at festivals and other venues
in Berne, Zurich, Lugano, Geneva and other cities.
In 1995 Nikolai moved to England and now lives in London.
His performances, whether in the concert hall or at a party,
demonstrate his shining virtuoso playing, and are a feast
for all lovers of music.
Listening to Nikolai Ryskov one understands that he presents
a brilliant professional talent, showing the highest possible
mastery of his instrument. His amazing technique, as well
as his unfailing response to the challenges presensted by
the instrument, leave the listener convinced that Nikolai
Ryskov is definitely an outstanding musician.
Nikolai is playing Russian button Accordion Bayan "Jupiter"
B-system.
This delightful CD will acquaint the listener with Russian
folk music arranged for classical accordion(bayan) by Russian
composers for concert performances. Enjoy listening!
