Samba..alla Turca! takes Mozart’s well-known Rondo alla Turca and gives it a Brazilian Samba make-over, with a couple of extra counter-melodies thrown in along the way, and an extra Mozart quote at the very end! The piece has been especially popular in its orchestral arrangement, and has featured in concerts by two of the UK’s leading orchestras, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and the Ulster Orchestra in Belfast. Some Latin percussion should help things go with a swing! |
