Since we were teenagers we played in different places in the same
neighborhoods as leaders of popular music groups. But we never played
in the same ones.
Some times ago, we were in a club with friends and we played together
for the first time sharing the same musical praxis. Since then we
were asked again and again for concerts and a record production.
TERRE is the expression of our "inner landscapes"
suddenly coming out from our far, common past.
Being ourselves is not difficult if the expressive way we choose
is the right one for us. That's what we did during our several reharsals.
Our original compositions have the names of the cities we are fond
of and they are related to famous songs by famous artists coming
from those cities: Franco Battiato, Ivan Graziani, Antonio Di Capua,
Milva e Antonella Ruggiero. With these two latter artists we still
collaborate at the present.
TERRE has
been written by four hands. It is the expression of Italian melody
and it represents the key speech of our project.
All the tracks have been recorded live by the two of us playing
in the same room.
Entrambi adolescenti, e già leader di formazioni di
musica popolare, suonavamo in locali diversi della stessa
borgata, mai nello stesso gruppo.
Qualche tempo fa, in un club di amici, abbiamo per la prima
volta suonato insieme sperimentando di condividere la medesima
prassi musicale.
Richieste per concerti, e per una produzione discografica,
si sono susseguite sin dal primo momento.
Terre è
la realizzazione dei nostri territori interiori che d'improvviso
emergono incontaminati da un comune passato, lontano.
Essere se stessi non è difficile, occorre ripresentare
la qualità espressiva che ci è pertinente. A
questo ci siamo attenuti fondamentalmente nelle nostre ripetute
prove in studio.
Le composizioni
originali hanno nomi di città a noi care, contemporaneamente
si riferiscono a brani celebri di artisti del luogo. Quindi
Franco Battiato, Ivan Graziani, Antonio Di Capua, Milva e
Antonella Ruggiero; con queste ultime la collaborazione è
tuttora proficua.
Terre, scritto
a quattro mani ed espressione consistente della melodia italiana,
costituisce la chiave di lettura dell'intero progetto.
